swapping tranny with a CL-S
Hey i was just wondering...my friend has a 03' CL-S 6spd transmission great condition. He took it of his car and wants to sell it. Me in the other hand is looking into buying a 03' TL-S. I was just wondering since the CL-S and TL-S share the same motor can i just drop the transmission into the TL-S? If anyone knows please tell me before i move onto the 04' TL a-spec...thanks...

It's not a plug-and-play swap, if that's what you're asking. Sure it could probably be done, but it would cost a LOT of $$$$, not including the cost of the tranny. You would need to move the handbrake from the floor to the center console, you would need to get a clutch installed, etc etc. The list goes on and on.
The short answer is: no, it cannot be done (easily or cheaply)

Here is my $0.02. Yes, it can be done. So far no one has attempted the swap since it costs too much $$$ and labor and modifications. So, the swap is not worth it for 99.9% of the TLS owners since the amount of the money spent could get you a 2004 TL 6 speed with trade-in.
