Exclamation Suspension help needed...

I've got a problem and need some advice...

I am currently running the Ground Control coilovers with the Koni Yellow adjustable shocks...my problem is that with the stereo setup I have in the trunk the rear end keeps bottoming out (the shock mount keeps hitting the rubber stopper causing a loud clunk). I have the Koni's set at their hardest setting and it still happens. Does anyone here run the same setup? Have you ever had this problem and if so did you overcome it and how?

Any and all suggestions/help is appreciated!

Sly

with my experiences on numourous lesser brand aftermarket cup kit ( coil over they called it but they are not really like real race style coil over, like HKS and Teins...etc.) It's probably no cure for that if your car reaches the max. travel and the spring perch leaves the shock mount. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, I think it's quite dangerous if that happens..

Anyway, I would try get some spring silencer, ( it's just like a little foam/rubber tube that wraps around the spring. ) local acura dealer should have some available. cuz we had been putting those in and most of the time it does seem to fix the clunking noise...in this case your suspension is safe and u don't need to worry about the scenerio that spring perch flying off.... If you notice the real coil over system had helper springs (the little spring on top of the real springs) that holds the perch and cure that problem.

I urge you to jack up your car fully( so your wheels come off the ground) inspecting them. You probably can called the cust. service at ground control and seek for help too.

Sly,

Your ground control coilovers are adjustable too right?

Silly question but have you tried adjusting them to a higher setting?

Thanks guys...I spoke to Ground Control and they actually said it was b/c the springs that come with the kit are too soft for the weight load I have in the trunk due to my stereo system. They sent me new stiffer springs (cost me $55 each) and they have solved the problem...no more bottoming out at all.
