Suspension, Body Kit, Tires and Rims set-up advice

Hey,

Have an 02 TL base. Wanting to do a few mods but would like some advice.

Suspension - I'd like to drop it likely 1.75 - 2". Do I need coil overs or will the spring kit work ok? I do not want the car to have too stiff handling. Nor do I want to feel every little bump in the road if possible.

Body Kit - I want the Type S set-up and will remove my spoiler. I want to keep my fog lights. I do like the Aspec Duraflex side skirts though. Not sure if I can get them for a Gen 2. I've only saw 04 and up.

Rims - I want to go 18" 5 spoke. I'd like the tires just stick out a tad from the wheel wells. Should the back wheels stick out a little more than the fronts? Should I add spacers? Are spacers a good idea?

Tires - Based on a 2" drop max and 18" rims, I'm not sure the best the best profile of tire I'd need to not have. I do not want to shave or alter my wheel wells etc.

I appreciate any advice!

Paul

Springs will give you the drop you are looking for more than likely.

the type s 2gen doesn’t come with any extra body parts, there is a upgraded package you could get back in the day. The Aspec lip kit is available but hard to find it oem. But you can get it in fiberglass tho too.

wheel choice is up to you really. But dependent on with width wheel you go with. You’ll just have to get the right tire. But on a 18 in wheel I would go with a 35 or 40 series tires.

with that small of a drop you should be fine with no mods to the wheel wells

Adjustable coil-overs will help you fine tune the drop and provide you with the ability to return to ~stock height when you want. Might be worth looking at before dedicating to a hard drop.

Thanks!

I was thinking I'd like the back wheels to stick out maybe 1/2" and the fronts half of that.

I have saw the Aspec on a few sites. I'm in Canada though. I'm building my shopping list and then have to chase up vendors that ship here.

Thanks!

That's what I was thinking too. I'm in Canada and will be driving the car in the winter as well so it would be nice to set it back to original height and I have decent 15" winters for it. Will handle a lot better in the snow.
