Sunday Funday – PCV Valve Adventure

While doing a routine fluid check I noticed some oil weeping in the areas around the valve covers. While exploring further I noticed some around the PCV valve and grommet. While poking around the PCV, I bumped the hose and (can you see this coming?), the PCV valve snapped in half. After a vain attempt to remove the remainder and grommet, I became concerned that I’d break off pieces that would fall in, so off with the VC. I had recently changed the VC gaskets so this was not new territory but still a much bigger job than I hoped for a $3 part.

Fortunately, my local AutoZone had the grommet and PCV valve in stock. The vacuum lines were also hard, including one on the TB so I bought some fresh line as well. Three hours and $14 dollars later it’s back together. I replaced the valve, grommet and the vac line for the PCV and a split line off the TB. I noted a few other vac lines are getting hard, but that’s for another day.

I hope your Sunday was Fun Day!!

So here are some pics.
