Subwoofer questions

Hi...I'm thinking about putting in a speaker box with 8" subs in the trunk. I found a good price from an ad. The box has 2 8" subs total 250watts. The amp is 300watts total. I was wondering if these will give nice booms. The maker name is Shaker. I don't kno the quality of this system but in general are those good? what do you guys recommend? also with the specs i mentioned is a 4x45watt cd player good for this? I live in toronto, I wanna check out some other boxes but have no idea where to look. Any t.o peeps here can help me out? Thanx a lot.

shaker is not a good brand name

your amp and sub setup sound right. you want the amp to put out a LITTLE more power than the subs request. the 2 8's will give you a really clean, crisp low end (NOT boomy)

the cd player doesnt have much to do since your getting an amp to power JUST the subs

do the same setup, only with better brands. alpine for amps, diamond or boston for subs. with those brands your getting a very good price/quality ratio

agreed. Don't go with no-name brands.

This is what will happen if you do. You will probably say it's cool in the beginning, but after a while, you'll say you wish you had better stuff, or cleaner stuff, or there may be problems with the no name stuff.

Then you'll end up upgrading your set-up, and thus the money will be wasted on the Shakers brand. Might as well save up a little more and buy nice stuff.

This is just my opinion. Good luck

try to find someone that makes custom boxes so it'll fix your speakers needs and be design to fit your car nicely.. might run you a little bit more but you'll have a much better quality box and sound
