Strange sound when shutting off the engine...
Does anyone hear and/or has strange sound when shutting off the engine?? I just notice today that when shutting off the car, I hear some griding sound.... it only lasts for a sec or so after I shut off the ignition....
Any one has the same problem??

It sounds like when you shut off a power tool and it still spins itself couple revolutions before come to a complete stop. If you ever watched the old Slick50 ads where they put some lubricant on a piece of metal rod, and put pressure on it with another piece of metal and thig stopped due to lack of lubrication.... it sounds exactly like that(the metal rubbing metal sound, w/out lubrication of course).
It seems something in the engine compartment is still running right after shutting off the engine...
The sound only lasts about 1 sec...

Since your car is so new -- consider taking it in and replicating the symptoms w/ a service rep present. I do not hear what you've described -- i turned the car on and off several times w/ the windows down. Try shutting the car off w/ the windows down and the hood OPEN. See if it sounds any worse.
It seems that it only happens when the car has been driven for a period of time and engine temp at normal working temperature. Oh, and it not noticeable in the car. I noticed the sound because I have the habbit of open the door, check everything before shut off the engine, and that's when I noticed the noise. It's hard to hear even when sitting inside with windows down.... but definitely audible with doors open(and especially if you park the car in the garage).
Some how, I think it's the fan...
Anyways, will bring the car in for check-out and will keep you guys inform(maybe another possbile watch-out for new TL-S owners)

Just noticed the same sound tonight from my TL-S (parked in my garage, and the driver's door was open). You described it well.
Can't get to the dealer this week due to business travel. Let me know what happens when you take your car in.
Thanks!

My roomate has a honda accord and he gets that same sound too. He told me it has to do with the cooling system and that's a normal sound to come from the car. He's had three other hondas in the past and they all did that as well. I assume they have that in all honda products (regardless it's an honda or acura).
