Stop Trunk Vibration from bass

ok i have 2 Alpine 12"s Type R in my trunk and my trunk rattle's on the outside like its gonna fall apart. whats the best method to stop all this rattling. is there any way to stop the vibration than using rammaat or dynamat because i heard these just block the road noise and keep them out of the car. doesn't really damper the vibration on my trunk.

On either side of the trunk lid are two little rubber bumpers. You need to twist them counterclockwise. They are threaded so they drop down as you twist them.

Twist each one a little. Close the trunk and then turn up your system. See if the rattling goes away.

I did this on Soopa's and Astroboy's car and it make the rattles go away.

Port

You might want to build (or have built) a custom box with a port to the cabin. When I did my system for my 328ic a decided I would rather have a stock system than have a good system with rattles. I also wanted to be sure I could hear and feel the bass with the top down. Here are some pics...
The box was built to fit the exact dimesions of the low rise area in the back of my trunk. My trunk is small to begin with so I wanted to make sure I still had space back there.
Components covered (Im re-doing this with oe carpet)

amps mounted on the back of sub box (Infinity Kappa 50x4 (powering Focal components) & 200x1 and JL Audio 250x1 monoblock)

sub box bolted to trunk frame (1 kicker comp vr 10")

The port exits through the rear seat armrest

It sounds loud and clean (top up or down) with absolutely no rattles. Ask Bronx002TL, he heard it last weekend

Other fixes include dynamatting the trunk, using foam expander, or foam tape on the license plate (if thats whats causing this). BUt if you really don't want rattles and you want to hear your bass better, go for a box ported to the cabin.

I don't know where you heard that about dynamat...but that's the best stuff to use. Personally, I've lined my trunk lid with Dynamat Extreme. Its kept all the bass in and none of the vibration out...great stuff!

I have mixed feelings about Dynamat Extreme. I just had my system installed and my amp+sub is putting out 500W RMS. I had crazy rattling and then had dynamat extreme put in the decklid(top and behind acura logos) and in the spare tire compartment. I also stuffed foam behind the logo and played around with those black twist things. I also adjusted the latch and put a little bit of 3M electrical tape on it. My trunk still has extensive rattle when system is really hitting and I don't think any Dynamat will get rid of that. Most still seems to come from the trunk latch and I'm trying to find a way to quiet that down.
