Cool stop light cameras

Great news! I posted some weeks ago getting nailed by a automatic stop light camera in San diego as I rolled through a left turn at an intersection. The traffic had backed up in front of me and left me hanging in the intersection to get a ticket. So, I have been sweating it...

I saw in the paper yesterday that they are tossing out any stop light camera tickets and suspending the whole program while every camera gets an audit. The article said that the contractor (Lockheed martin) that installed the cameras also installed some underground sensors so that they can calculate how fast you were going through the intersection. Apparently some of the sensors have been moved without the concurrence of the city. So, when people go to court the calculations of their speed are wrong. :-) The paper said that the sensors had only been moved 10 inches...

I see this as a gift from heaven.
