Stone Racing Headers Back in Action

Wsup fellas,

Just found the elusive Stone Racing Headers on ebay. Here is the auction listing: Stone Racing Headers

They are going for $299. Which is pretty darn cheap if you ask me. I just picked up a set.

Also, the same seller has a website, www.ssautochrome.com. On the website the headers go for around $370.

I did some searching on several forums about these headers. It looks like there was only one person with fitment issues on the TL and that was from the 1st batch of headers from last year. Since then, several new batches with improvements have come out.

Good luck with the fitment. I had a set from the first and second batch and neither set fit properly. Was a huge waste of money on installation/uninstallation costs. Could have bought brand new Comptech headers with all the money I wasted.

If I had to do it all over again, I would only buy Comptech ... and thats my advice to everyone who asks.

yeah, I read about your fitment problems. You were the only one that had problems with fitment. Partick and several other people had no issues. Hopefully I won't have issues either.

I may have been the only TL owner that had fitment issues, but go over to the CL forums and you'll find a lot more people with fitment issues. Some of them resolved the problem themselves by having a shop move the O2 bung hole and some people who had problems with the A-pipe lining up had to torch the pipes and bend them into the correct shape.

If you're not worried about possibly needing to do either, then you should be fine.

True, but at 310 shipped, I took a chance.

They are working perfectly fine on my car. And if a weld cracks, then all I have to do is remove the header and take it to a shop and get it fixed for like 10 bucks.

Thats so its compatible with the 6 speed CL-S. If you look at a set of new Comptech headers its the same way. The older headers for the CL/TL don't fit on a 6speed CL-S because the header hits an engine mount I believe. The bend makes it so the headers fit on all 2nd gen CL/TLs.
