Stock Sub with Aftermarket Head Unit

Can I use a speaker level converter so that the stock sub and stock amp work with the aftermarket head unit?

The signal to the factory sub woofer amplifier is a preamped/low level signal. What ever signal going into the factory sub woofer amplifier should also be preamped/low level. Unless you connect a amplified/high level signal straight to the woofer.
