stock rim tires

Its just about time for me to get new tires on my 03 NBP TLS and I was wondering which tires have people been buying and had good results with, handling wise. PS I need tires to fit on the stock rims.
Thank you

I replaced my OEM with Summitomo HTR+ and at the same size. Looks real good on the rims and a excellent dry and wet tire, can't go wrong with them if looking for new tires.

Many others on this forum also got them.

Last month I bought a set of the Dunlop SP 9000 (Z-rated) and they are way better than the stock Michelins. The 9000s are quieter and stick to the ground very nicely.

Well whichever you choose, make sure your rolling diameter stays the same.

I always use the rev/mile measurement to determine a tire's TRUE rolling diameter.

Just for comparison's sake...

Stock TLS = 215/50VR17 Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 = 819 revs/mile
Stock TLP = 205/60VR16 Michelin Energy MXV4+ = 813 revs/mile

Best tire I've found that...
fits a TLS/CLS stock wheel....non-directional...and all seasons
215/50VR17 Yokohama Avid V4 = 813 revs/mile

I bought a nice set of Falkens - very aggressive tread pattern, grip is great, and they excel in the rain. Three season though, I have Finnish snow tires for winter.

Since you live in FL, go with zrated tires. I have Kumho tires and they are great in the dry and rain conditions. But not too good with snow.

I'd vote for SP9000's, Firestone SZ50 or Toyo T1S.

Stay away from FM901's. They may be fine for Civics and other smaller cars but the Type S is a heavy torquey car that demands a more substantial tire.

Correction....the Yokahama V4 is a unidirectional tire.

I agree! Great tire at a fraction of the price of the stocks
I'm glad I busted one of my stock tires b/c it gave me a reason to switch out all 4 to the HTR's

I replaced my OEM with Yokohama Avid V4 225/55/16 with no problems. You will notice a "stiffer" ride from the Michelins though.

I just ordered those tires. Hopefully, they'll be installed this weekend. I have heard nothing but good things about them.

I have the BridgeStone S-03 Pole Positions and I LOVE them. They handle so much better and they are a dream on wet.
