stock cd player elapsed song time
I just noticed this today. When listening to a cd, you can skip to the next song by hitting the seek button in the lower right hand corner of the stock stereo.
Holding down this button, either forwards or backwards seek, allows you to scan (fast forward) through the track. When you do this...it shows you the elapsed time of the track.
I know some people were looking for it to play all the time, and I am not sure if that is possible, but hold the button down for a second or so, and the elapsed time will display.
Interesting tidbit if you didn't already know.

I always knew about the 'fastforward' and 'rewing' feature. Most CD players (that do not have designated buttons for it) usually just use the 'skip' button....you hold it down. However, I have a '99 and have never seen the track-time display. It sucks...especially for when you want to fastforward or rewind to a particular part....You just have to guess where you are in the song.
