Steering Whell installation

I just bought the Wood steering wheel and I was wondering if someone could help me out by supplying me with some instructions on how to install the new wheel.

Thanks so much. I really appreciate it.

By the way, where did you get that pdf file? Is there a bank of installation instructions on this website?

Anyhow, thanks again.

There are loads of pdf installation instructions on that site www.handa-accessories.com

But they're all for Hondas. But some of the instructions can apply to some Acura vehicles.

Also remember you will have to reset your airbag memory.

Good tip! Also, I've noticed if you can swap everything within 1 hour you won't have to reset the SRS memory. But if the SRS light does comes on either have the dealer reset it (under warranty) or buy $4 part from www.handa-accessories.com to reset it yourself. The instructions are in the Helm Manual.

Thanks for the advice....I don't know if I can do it within one hour though. I like to take my time with things like this.

I noticed on the installation instructions that two Torx Bolts are needed, which are used to mount the airbag onto the steering wheel.

Also, I have encountered some people that claim the wood steering wheel does not fit the 99-01 TL. Is this true? I'm assuming the wheel fits all the vehicles; even probably an Accord.

If there are any problems please let me know.

There should already be 2 torx bolt holding your existing airbag
to your steering wheel. It's not a matter of "will the steering wheel fit on your car" but a will it fit with your airbag.

I know for the more recent Accords there are two different style wheel hubs. The only difference is how they mount the airbag to the wheel. Is your wooden steering wheel specifically for your TL model? If so then it should fit.

You will have to reset the air bag memory regardless of how long power is off. As soon as you break connectors you need to reset. Just use your Helm instructions and forget about the Honda special tool. Use a paper clip works great.
