Unless you do serious racing, I would get the springs. They help out with cornering, and also help out the looks. The sways would be sweet for changing lanes real quick, or making turns; the car will not lean. Do you have the stock wheels/tires, still?

If your into looks then go for the springs... but if you want your car to handle like a luxary sports sedan then the sways are a must.

I posted earlier how I waited for a year to get the sways... my advice to ya.... DON'T !!!

Get the springs, sways, strutbar and new performance tires and you will feel like you are driving on rails.

I have stock rims/tires which I am going to keep. Until at least I get some wear out of them. Already have the Neuspeed strut bar, AEM CAI, and 6000K upgrade. Think I might do sways, than springs, than HID fogs. Does that sound good??

If you want looks, get the springs, if you want better handling, get the sways first. I did them at different times, and did the sways first and they made more of an impact on handling. This car as a Type-S model should have definitely come with them stock.

I would go witht eh sways first. They are cheaper and are easier to install. See how you like it. It should provide you with noticable handling improvement. Less body roll for sure, adn if comtech did things right, less understeer as well.

As for springs, comptech told me the front rates were the same as stock (linear) and the rear was progressive and stiffer than stock. So if the car sits lower with the same spring rate, it will roll more. Rates have to be stiffer to improve handling while lowering. The rear rate being progressive is a scam too. There is really no such thing as a progressive rate spring as it's advertised. F1 teams couldn't produce a progressive rate springs (investing a lot of money into it), so I doubt anyone else can. There is always a slight change in rate as a spring compresses, but not substancial that the ride is different as the spring compresses. Also getting a good matched shock is important when changing springs. People here seem to use the stock shock (which is fine with comptech springs that are the same rate as stock....I personally would want to optimize performance and only do the install of springs shocks once. I'd get much stiffer springs and quality sport shocks with dampening that matches the springs performance. Coilovers are a good , but expensive choice. Just my $.02....get the sways unless you really care about the asthetics of having the car lowered. If you want more show and go, go with coilovers...if you just want more show, go with springs and stock shocks.

Well, after reading, I'm going to order the sways first. Than in a few weeks, i'll do the springs. Think I am just going to go with tthe H&R sport. Don't feel like spendthe 900 on coilovers. I think it will be ok with stock shocks. Seems like most people on here are doing that.

songoku....

I would do the sways first because it may be all the performance you one needs. It's a cheaper part and one can easily install it. Whenever I mod I like to do things one at a time to knwo the effect each mod has. I'd never put on lighter, wider wheels with better, wider tires and do my suspension at the same time. Just my $.02

Exclamation

I'm going to go against the majority here and say do the springs first.... I'd actually do it in the order of new tires, springs, sways. I've read some pretty scary stories about people just doing sways, or both springs and sways, and losing control of the car (one guy even totalled his on the CL board) b/c the stock tires can't provide the necessary grip. First thing I did was the tires/rims, and that made a huge difference. I just got the springs done, and let me tell you... the car rides like it's on rails.. and I didn't even do the sways yet!!

Seriously though... I'd wait on the sways until you upgraded your tires. If you want to do springs before tires, you should be OK... but i wouldn't do sways until you get new rubber. Again, this is my opinion and is only based on what I've read from others.....

Juiniorbean has a good point

I actually did what he said (on my Audi) and I have AWD and decent z rated tires to help keep me out of trouble. I did my springs/shocks, then wheels tires, then sways. I can easily get my back end around on dry pavement with my current setup. I'm not sure how aggressive the sways are for the TLS, but I can't imagine the car would oversteer with them.
