I see occasional posts on here about washing your car.....I am a pilot, and I also own a small business, and we detail aircraft. We are able to wash the planes and just walk away without drying it off. For $125.00 Culligan Water Comapny will deliver these 2 tanks that de-ionize the water. They are a little taller than Welder's tanks, and they are good for 1600 Gallons of water. I am in Missouri, and the water is somewhat hard here, so I get about 1100 gallons out of the tanks. Costs me something like .09/gallon.....They are a real help if you have a Culligan store in your area. When the tanks run bad(there is a light to tell you), you just call them, and the next day, they bill your CC and deliver a new set and take the old for $125.00! Just put the tanks in the garage, and hook them directly to the water facuet, then to the hose or, in my case, pressure washer. Call Culligan, and let them know you want a set of De-ionized water tanks. Good luck, and let me know how it works out if you do it!

That seems a little different from the product i've seen online. they advertised a spot free car wash using the same process, but it was like a wand you attach to your hose. I was always wanting to try it.

I think the spotting is usually due to hard water, water with alot of mineral content, (ie calcium etc) Deionixed water is basically free of most if not all the minerals, and thus have no mineral content to spot the surface it dries on. The tanks probably contain reactents that remove the mineral content. I remember rinsing all lab flasks and glassware with DeIonized water so that the glass would not have mineral deposits on it. Using this same Idea, I actually rinse my car off after washing with DeIonized water I get at a drinking water store locally (We have really hard water in this area too) It costs like 0.35 a gal, but only takes me 1-2 gallons when I use it. heck, I spend more than that on a soda or coffee! It does minimize / eliminate spotting though, and makes wiping dry alot easier too.
