Someone pulled the plug....
Quick question for anyone out there. I'm at the dealer right now getting a check engine light fixed as I have been putting it off for too long.
Anyway, while I was driving last night I had the AC pumped as it was plus 90 degrees and all of a sudden my TL just shut down. No warning lights, nothing. One second I was driving fine and the next the power was off. It was like someone pulled the plug right out of my car. Walked the car over to the side of the road, tried to turn it on a minute later and everything seems to be fine now. Pretty scary though as if I had been on the highway, well, I might not be writing this now...
Well, they are charging me $90 for the diagnostic test but they want to charge me another $90 to figure out the problem with what happened last night. They said they would have to run a different test to check the charges and it could be the altinator or something like that.
Any guesses out there?
Thanks

Kinda like you turned the car off with the key. There was a TSB for some years of TLs about ignition switch issues. Ask them to check and make sure your car has had these fixes installed.

Just got outta the dealership.
Check engine light turned out to be a leak in the EVAP canister. Code at AutoZone was 1457, one number off from a leaking gas cap (1456). That was a cool $415...
Anyway, they checked the ignition and I need a new electrical portion of the ignition switch. Luckily the whole ignition doesn't need to be replaced. The part only cost $71 not including installation though.
Unfortunately the don't have the part and it has to be ordered so I get to go back....sweet.
Guess I need to be careful driving over potholes for the next couple days as almost anything can knock the ignition out.
Good times...

I called Acura of Canada and they told me because it is a safety issue I cannot be denied service in the United States even though my car is Canadian.
Turns out the dealer is just trying to screw with me. Acura of Boston sucks. They still gave me crap when I called them on it!
I'm taking my car elsewhere as I already called another dealer and they are getting me in as soon as possible.
Unbelievable.
