Just a newbie TLS owner who likes to lurk and learn rather than waste bandwidth... (I got it for "my wife...." yeah, right!) always curious, though... do you guys have an "alternative ride?" If so... what might it be...
My other drive would be an '87 Grand National... goes like hell but Allah be with you if you have to turn or stop the damn thing when it's spooled up... It's days are numbered me thinks... I really got the wants for an S2000 or TT...

I'm working on a finding a weekend car right now.
Here are my choices,
1. 87-93 Mustang 5.0, cheap so I can build it the way I want
2. late 60's or early 70's camaro or T/A
3. Factory Five Racing's Cobra kit car, I will build this with a supercharged 5.0
4. Monster Miata, that's a Miata with a 5.0 stang motor in it.

"1. 87-93 Mustang 5.0, cheap so I can build it the way I want"......This is currently my other car.....I need my torque fix.....I always wanted to get rid of my N2O and get a Incon Twin Turbo kit........I'm still dreaming

2. 70-72 Camaro's....the only Camaro's I like, gorgeous till the 73- diving board (bumper)requlations destroyed it's beauty.
3. Factory Five Racing's Cobra kit car.........I so badly want to build this car....I'll never get rid of the 5.0 simply for the possibilities of building the FFR Cobra or the FFR Type 65 Coupe....the gorgeous Cobra Daytona kit

4. Monster Miata.....wanted this crazy little ride since it's creation.....wow!, it's been over ten years I believe since this nose heavy little beast came out

Burning Brakes
1995 Accord EX with 113K miles, and no problems. Hondas!:tu:
My play car is a 1980 Z28, that I've had for 12 years. Much work done (all myself, on a self-imposed tight budget)- built 350, T56 six-speed manual, late model wheels, etc. It's a fun car to drive (tire-spinning high 13s), but compared to the overall feel of today's cars, it's a little rough around the edges. I like the 70-72 better, but I have too much time and effort in this one. http://home.cfl.rr.com/doriplace

I also have a 1984 Camaro that is my "fun" ride. Its moderately modified and doesn't have much comfort but is a hauler - mid 12's on the motor (11's on NOS), Baer brakes, Suspension... but still is not done... I'm sure everyone out there knows what I mean.
Anyway, there is nothing like having a project car that is fun, whether it be a kit car, vintage car, muscle car...
I particularly love fast cars that handle and have a good top end speed, but factory stock is for guys with $, not brains. Modified is the way to go, nothing like turning a 17 second car into an 11 second one with mostly factory parts and some ingenuity. Can't go wrong with a Camaro/Firebird, Corvette, Mustang, Supra, 300ZX, or RX7.
And yes you can make a Grand National stop and handle - its called a Turbo Trans Am!!!

SWEET CAR!

My family comes first, too, which is why it's not finished the way I want it (383 LS1, Brembos, 18" Fikse, etc.) That probably won't ever happen. I could see it now- "Well, I know your college was important, but I had to finish the car. Sorry!"

Seriously, the wife drives the 2003 TL, my daily driver is a 2002 Mercury Sable LS (hey, the company owns it, buys the gas, pays the maintenance and insurance...)
93 Sable for daughter
96 Sable for son
Both are former company cars, and TL drivers aren't the only ones who have transmissions crap, both of the Sable have had new tranny's.
And the toy cars are a a 64 MGB, Summer night and weekend driver, as well as a 66 MGB project.
Let me tell you, there's something about those British sportcars. Easy to fix, great parts availability, fun to drive, and always turns heads. The later rubber bumper models will take a Buick/Rover 215 c.i.d. aluminum V8 with minimum modification, and they will stand your hair on end

Besides the TLS, I drive a '00 Buick Regal which is almost at the end of its lease. It's a great car, but the interior looks ancient and it handles very poorly. It's just a tad slower in the 1/4 mile than the TLS. Off the line, 0-40 MPH, it'll eat the TLS for breakfast, but after that the TLS pulls it.

that's what the GM cars are all about
i used to hate my 96 buick regal when we bought it...hope it would break down someday...but it never fails...no matter winter, summer any day given...
they look like they are gonna break but they are very reliable and finally earned my respect to GM car...
