So i just got my TL. but what is ...

Okay so i just got my 2002 TL-S and now ive been reading about all these things about the trannies...... i got the car w/ 59k on it. and it runs great no problems yet. but say the tranny does start to go out. arent the trannies waarrantied til 100k? my sister has a accord and they sent us somethings aying it is now up to 100k for the tranny? i didnt buy my car from a acura dealership either....

shouldn't matter, warrenty usually follows the car, not the owner.

call acura with you vin and they will tell you if the tranny has already been replaced, if not, don't worry about it until you have an issue.

Where do people drive these cars to? South America?

there was a 2002 TL type S that had 83,000mi. on it that was for sale at this dealership I went to. The sales guy told me the owner's house was out of state.

wow i have almost 20,000 miles on my 2002 tls....they must be driving down to south america!!

Same here......2002 TL-S/ navi w/ 52,000 miles. Started from near 0 miles and still love every mile.......

but, on my 3rd tranny!!

I got my 2002 with 3 miles on it...

Don't forget, a 2002 with 59K on it may sound worse than it actually is. The 2002 model was available as early as March 2001 (I bought mine in May 2001).

Here's an example - Suppose on April 5th, 2001 you bought two cars on the same day:

2001 TL, now with 59K miles
2002 TL-S, now with 59K miles

Both were driven the exact same amount but the 2002 takes a hit in resale value because it was bought early.
