so i did a 0-60 tonight
today i got a bit cocky after i found out my transmission is in good shape and really pushed the car on my way back from the cottage (its getting cold and i had to clean it up for winter).
so did a 0-60 test and it was pretty impressive 6.89s for the car's age. also i pulled 11.2L/100km or 21.5mpg pretty good considering i floored it so much.
oh here is the video

I really don't see your TL pulling that number unless it's a type-s in really good running condition on 17s or lighter weight wheels. It is quick, but it appears to take more like 8 seconds to reach 96kph or 60mph.

its a lot of mass to get in motion--- but once in motion it goes faster at a quicker rate~
60-100-120mph arrive fast!

Cheers for posting that info. Good on ya. I am however still slightly baffled. A base TL is not supposed to run below 7 stock. Is your car modified in any way? I suppose I shouldn't have made the assumption that it's stock, but you never listed any potential modifications.

I remember 00-03 tl-p's hitting 60 in 6.7 stock. tl-s 6.2 stock. 99 tl-p are 7.2 stock. 8.2 stock is pretty damn slow, no way a tl-p is that slow. 6.89 sounds very plausible.

^ i agree lets see the 135i
iv never done a 0-60 in under 7 sec in my tl-p (7.2 sec), and thats with an intake too. before cold air intake i clocked just under 8 sec. now that i have good tires, and suspension, stiffy etd, i could prob get a much better launch and less wheel hop. also any 0-60 test iv ever done was with my old tranny which slipped and shifted slow. my new tranny shifts much better and faster, could prob improve 0-60 time, but id rather keep my new tranny shifting well and not do any 0-60 tests.

Run it hard or not, but a TL is much quicker than 8sec 0-60. I hit vtec everyday on average 5 time for over 8 years and have 210k on the original motor and it runs perfect. Honda's love to be rev'd. We have forged cranks so what's to worry about? Keep up with normal maintence and you're set.

The 99's don't. In SS mode you can bounce off the rev limited in 1st. Makes for much better and more powerful shifts into 2nd. Gears are too tall in 99 4 speeds though which hurts.

^ gate shifting 1st will provide a faster time. but i bet its murder on the clutch packs, prob why acura programmed it to shift at a lower rpm. either for that reason or to save our shitty motor mounts from exploding.

Gate shifting does NOTHING different to the clutchpacks than the SS mode or full auto.

On a stock TL-P with a 5 speed auto in ideal conditions, 0 to 60 mph should be around 7.0 seconds. So yes, I believe it.
