Post Skidpad Numbers

One of the biggest disappointments about the TL is the skidpad number. At .75g it's right there with my Lincoln Towncar.
I think the TL is the worst in it's class in this area if I'm not mistaken.
Does anyone know if the new TL-S will improve these numbers?
That "S" ought to bring with it at least a .80g.

Thanks.

The main thing holding back the potential of the 3.2TL is the stock tires that come on the car.....The stock tires are low-friction touring tires that are very quite and give good mileage but miserable as far as handling, road-grip etc are concerned.

I switched my stock TL tires with Michelin Pilot XGT-Z4 225/55-ZR-16 All-season tires on stock rims, and the handling difference is like night and day......The TL has got a wonderful chassis and superb double-wishbone suspension on all four-ends, that basically begs for better tires.....switch the tires that come on the car with better ones, and the skidpad, acceleration and braking numbers should improve like night and day....

just my 2c

Do you think it'd change the skidpad numbers?
I've never heard of new tires affecting this.

Anyway, do you think I could get the dealer to put on better tires to sweeten the deal or is that unheard of?

Dear guy, FYI, skid-pad numbers are radically altered by tires with better grip....grippier tires also improve the acceleration and the braking. The TL comes with touring Michelin Energy tires....which will invariably produce mediocre handling numbers but provide a quieter ride with good mileage.....put in Z rated all-season tires (like the Michelin Pilot XGT-Z4)....and watch the skidpad numbers alter for the better...the mileage of course would reduce a bit...
