Exclamation singin' me & julio down at moroso! pic

great night at moroso! but lots of cars! we did 2 runs each, and waited an hour between runs. we couldn't get head to head because of the way they set it up. my first run was off because of a misshift in ss mode. which hurt the overall results plus hot and humid! 1st run reaction time: 1.625, and a lame 18.45 in the 1/4 mile. 2nd run nailed a perfect shot of the line! reaction time: an amazing .849!!! 1/4 mile time 17.11. julio's time was a bit quicker, he'll post his results! my car weighs more ! ( don't even try to get over J!) LOL! julio will post a couple of pics over the limit.we both have 99 tl's kman

Damn that heat and humidity really killed your times (18.45 and 17.11 in the 1/4:wow: )! Try it again when it's cooler and drier and let us know. I believe the 99 should be running around low to mid 15s stock.

Low 15's for 99's ??? stock??

Mid 16's stock and high 15's I/E sounds better on a cooler day.

I also ran 17.032 with .900 R/T.

BTW my intake killed kmans Injen CAI..... He says his car is heavier, but I used to kill him before he put the sound system anyways. :p

We had a great time, can't wait to do it again this friday. Both TL's pulled lots of attention (standing still of course..lol).....got to love the TL's.

yea that's what we were saying! and

we both have exhaust, intakes, plugs, etc. i was up against a suped up mustang gt, and his reaction time was 1.258, and his finish was 15.340 in the quarter, and he had 100 horses on me easy! maybe the timing equipment is off? he beat me by 1.3615 seconds. who the hell knows? we had fun! we had even more fun racing home on the turnpike! kman. the heat/humidity is a def hindrance!

I think it's all the extras paint in your engine bay. That's gotta give up at least 50 HP.

Love that Z06 :wow:

A 99 TL could easily run a mid to high 15 second 1/4 mile, and you ran in the 17's.
My old stock 90 accord 4 banger ran 17 secs flat at Sacramento raceway, and my TL is way quicker then that car.

REALLY? that's what we keep asking ourselves! i could not have got off the line any faster than .849! that is right on it! and i still pulled a 17.11 with intake / magnaflow catback exhaust / denso plugs! what else can i tell you, except the air temp was in the high 80's with like 90% humidity, and the track temp was in the 100's! 2 cars going off side by side every 15-30 seconds constantly, it's HOT! some guys are flaming their tires at the line smoking up the joint! like i said HOT! that's the only explanation i can think of for the slow times, my car is tuned to the wall! i even had the fuel injectors purged and cleaned! the atmosphere in sacramento might help our times! kman p.s header is next!!!

That is not true! If I remember correctly, even in the 99 TL brochure it said that it can do the 1/4 in the mid 15s. I think you mistaken our car for an Accord.:p

Edmunds:
15.9@88.7mph for 00 TL

Motorweek:
15.8 seconds @ 91 mph 99TL
15.1 seconds @ 94 mph type S

Motortrend:
15.7/90.3 99 TL

I see what you mean, but I don't see my TL doing close to 16's on this humidity and heat. It sucks

Then again this guy with a type S and I/H/E is running 15's with a reaction time of .558 wow.

TOOK THREE PASSES LAST NITE. BEST WAS 15.019@93.63MPH.MADE ANOTHER AT 15.055@95.15MPH ,THE WORST WAS 15.238@93.19 ( WHICH WAS MY FIRST BY THE WAY AND ALSO MY BEST REACTION TIME..558)IM DISSAPPOINTED AFTER DUMPIN 2K IN COMPTECH HEADERS&EXHAUST AND INJEN INTAKE WHEN I SEE GUYS POSTING HERE THEY ARE MAKIN PASSES IN THE 14'S WITHOUT MODS ..PLEASE HELP ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE APPERICIATED

there is no way we can do 15's. It has to be the temp, altitude, humidity.

The tracks at MOROSO sucks and they do screw up the number once in a while
17's is pretty sad for 99 TL

If you're looking to duplicate magazine 1/4 mile time at Moroso, you're in for disappointment. The heat, humidity and track conditions often get together to screw you. My car should probably be quicker than 14.6, but I'm happy enough with it.

Also, reaction time doesn't affect your 1/4 mile time at all. You could sit there for 20 minutes after the greens go on -- it doesn't start counting your actual E.T. until your front tires leave the staging beams. FWIW, one key to a good reaction time is to nail the gas sometime between the second yellow light going out and the third lighting up.
