Hi, my dad is a new to this forum and my parents are the owner of the 00 TL with navig. Well i just got done reading about the tranny problems, we havent faced any trouble yet (crossing fingers) but we did experience the side airbag light turning on. Has anyone had this problem? I should probably take it to the local acura dealership soon, but i just wanted to get peoples past experiences first. another i wanted to kno is has there been any recent recalls that we shuld be aware of? thanks :o

its is normal. it goes on when some one is in the passenger seat leaning towards the door, the light comes on to tell you its dissabled. they do that so that it doesnt come out and hit the person while leaning on the door. so you dont need to go to the dealer for it. just tell your passenger to sit straight in the seat

The SRS light may also come on when a cell phone is placed in the passenger seat or a cellular antenna cable is run under the seat. The control module for the SRS system is under the passenger seat cushion.

I know from first hand experience. But if the light comes on and stays on, go have it checked out first.

ok, i have experienced that too with the light coming on and then going off.

Sweet. Was wandering about the same problem and think about go back to dealer. What a release now.
