Showoff Kryptons
I installed the fogs and highbeams the other night. They're very white..and better than the sylvania silverstars. I compared them with Austin 519 last night..and he agrees... I'll post pics if i can borrow somebody's digi cam.

How to start a fire? Replace your factory 51W and 60W lights with these:
Krypton Series:
SIZE: 9005
WATTAGE: 12V 100 Watt
COLOR: White/Blue
SIZE: 9006
WATTAGE: 12V 100 Watt
COLOR: White/Blue
These are cheap and you can buy them at autotoys.com for $45 for all 4 of them (2 fogs, 2 hi beams). I'm not sure I'd install them without replacing stock wires with something that can handle them. They will be brighter than Sylvania Silverstars b/c Silverstars are 4000K, these are 4300K. But my God, the wattage...

it's a fire hazard for sure. 100watts on a factory wiring setup is very bad...these babies can burn ur wiring! i've had them on my integ and had to replace the whole harness! NO NO NO if you do have them on right now, try to get a refund for them

i'm not sure what the condition of the facctory fog light wiring harness is like...some thicker wiring is needed...but i'd prolly just change the bulbs, if you lower the wattage on those babies, they'd prolly look like cheap imitation HIDs anyway

Nope. On mine, the box said 60W, but on the bulb itself was marked 51W, which is exactly what our stock foglights are. I'm kinda dissapointed with them though. Other than the $106 less (for fogs and high beams) in my wallet, haven't seen much change. They are absolutely not close to our HID like they advertise. Yes, they're brighter but they still have a yellowish color to them. They take a few minutes to warm up, but how many times do you drive with your high beams on for that long. There's usually a car coming at ya every 30 seconds that forces you to turn them off. For my needs, they never get a chance to warm up properly.

No, the Silverstars aren't perfect. But, when used in the fogs they match the HIDs a lot better than the stock bulbs after they've been on for about 5 minutes. I don't know of any other bulb with a compatible wattage that comes closer to matching our HIDs. No Halogen bulb is gonna match HIDs perfectly. If they did, there wouldn't be a need for HIDs. And to the people running 100w bulbs in a housing designed for 51-60w bulbs, that's just a BAD idea.
Now, I guess I understand your point regarding your hi beams not having enough chance to warm up properly, but are you talking about light output or color temp? I think the Silverstars would still have more light output than a standard halogen, even if they weren't fully warmed up. If you think that you're going to find a Halogen bulb replacement for your hi beams that makes it looks like your running HIDs, good luck. Also, just because you have to turn off your hi beams when another car approaches does not mean that you have to start the warm up process all over again when you turn your brights back on. The bulb is still warm and should still be close to the light output/color temp it was before you switched to your lo beams.
