Should I take my car in for service?

I have an 03 TL that I picked up in January. I have almost 3000 miles on it, and I'm starting to get my 6 month service notices in the mail. Since I'm nowhere near the 7000 mile mark, should I even bother taking it in?

that's when the manual suggests service, oil change etc.

I bought mine in March (brand new) and just did an oil change at 5200 miles...the oil was a little dark...the dealer said to come at about 3570 mile intervals....

I go by milage usually, not time. Check the oil and if it's okay, then keep on chugging. Plus, you should follow the manual not the dealer. Dealers are in it for $$$, as long as you go by what the engineers who designed the car say, they can't deny any warrenty coverage, plus 3K oil changes with synthetic oil is just a waste IMO.

Acura says 7,500 miles, Dealer says 3,750 miles. Usually I go with the manufacturer recommendation, but I need to take my car in anyway to get a bunch of stuff fixed, so I took it in at 3,800 miles. For $28 bucks for the oil change (other stuff under warranty of course), it wasn't that painful.

i use mobile one synthetic oil, and i still change it every 3000 miles... do y'all think i should go longer, and if so how long should i go..... plus ae y'all sure it is good to keep it in there, bc even though it says u can go longer with out a change, i read that u should still change it every 3000 miles...

I have an 02 I got in December of 01. I rolled 32000 today. I get my oil changed every 3000 miles 3500 if im lazy but no longer than that. I change my oil often because of the type of driving I do (lot of freeway), but if all I did was screw around town or take the occasional trip or whatever I'd go by the manual or if I saw it was getting dark I'd change it early. Its not life or death but if you never get it changed like my girlfriend then youll screw it up.
