Exclamation Should I sell my TL? (very long)

Ok, so my TL is close to 50K miles now and tranny starting to get weird so I have been thinking of selling the TL and get something else. I'm paying $600 monthly for the TL now but when I get a new car I want to lower my payment to about $400 or so because I'm still a student and want to spend some money on other stuff too. So now I have several options:

1) lease an IS300 5 speed, I hated it when it first came out but after I testdrove the 5-speed, I fell in love with it. Powerwise I think it's about the same as my TL but there's something about the handling and transmission that I like. The shifts are very precise and the steering feel and feedback is excellent. And the aftermarket support is CRAZY, there are all kinds of turbos and kits and wheels out there and most importantly the block can handle a bunch of power just like the Supra. If I buy this car I'll have big plans for it. But the downside is I'll only be able to lease it to stay within $400 per month.

2) buy a WRX, but my cousin has one and the transmission is not as good as the IS300 and the interior, Sh!t. But I'll be able to mod the hell out of this car and beat most of the cars on the road. But I'll be worry about reliability and turbos, etc.

3) get a used prelude, then get I/H/E, kit, rims and can still have fun, lower my monthly payment by A LOT. But can no longer carry people and no more luxury.

4) get used SC400 just like Tanner, fast, luxurious, but still automatic. also will lower monthly payment A LOT but the car will be OLD.

5) get an SUV like a Xterra or used Land Rover so I won't get any more tickets!

6) last option is to keep my TL, put on the denso's and AEM pullies I have sitting in the garage, wait for the supercharger, get the value kit, custome paint it to blue/purple pearl, refinance it and lower the payments. But I'm going to have problems with the tranny.

So please help me. What should I do?

Get your tranny fixed under warranty before it actually hits 50k.

If I were you, I would go with the IS300, but I don't think it will lower your monthly payment by much...

Now the Subaru is a good deal, what you should be worry about thought is the safely issue... I don't feel that Subaru are safe cars... and the I personally can't live with that interior...

I think the Prelude is too played out, and with the Lexus, you might end up with some very big repair bills...

The only reason why I didn't go with the IS300 is that I personally don't feel is' any faster then my TL even with the 5spd. If you want to mod the heck out of it, then... go ahead...

I didn't know they came out with manual tranny for IS300. I'm not too sure if IS300 looks good tho. I love the rear but there is something about that front fascia that I don't approve.

Subaru?? Doooood... that car is fugly! Don't do it!!

Prelude is a nice car. I had 93 and 97 ludes. They were good handling cars. But why would you get a used car when you have a new car?

Stick with TL. What's the problem with your tranny? It seems like there are many ppl complaining about it. Can it be fixed under warranty?
