shifting into 3rd at 90 observation
I have noticed that when I shift SS into 3rd at 90 it does not really want to do it (everyone knows that). But "3" blinks for a second or two. So, while it is blinking, if you let go off the gas pedal, it will complete the shift into 3rd.

Good observation. We've all known this for years now. Do a search for a more indepth look at this "feature". You'll find lots of discussion about this, the pros and the cons. Hell, you'll even find people saying that the SS is crippled by this "problem".

One thing I DIDNT know though was that it'll continue to downshift provided the number is still blinking. Usually I'd move the level down twice. So thanks for the heads up.

kensteele, I really thought that my observation was new.
I knew about letting off the gas pedal before downshifting. But that way, I think you lose too much speed.
My way is - with the foot hard on gas click, click down, momentarily ease off the gas while "3" is blinking and then as soon as it competes shifting into 3-rd, stomp the gas again.
