selling the bimmer, keeping the TL

after a hell of a week i decided to keep my faithful TL and get rid of the 135i. i came to this decision when my wife declared that the TL no longer satisfies her driving experience lol. i realized after last winter that my bimmer spends too much time in the garage, having accumulated only a mere 4000 miles for a year. although i love this car and its sheer power i almost never get to use it, what with my busy work schedule and messed up toronto roads and traffic. since my wife also doesn't like the rdx' stiff ride and heavy steering, it all came down to my bimmer, it's gotta go. I'm fine with the TL. i love its smooth ride, maneuverability, light steering in city and reliability. it only has 60k miles on the odo. i will be driving the TL to work and my rdx for weekend or family trips. my wife is getting a subaru impreza (not the 2012 model), will be at the subaru dealership tomorrow for test drive and possible purchase. i have had quite a few calls regarding the 135i i put up for sale. i never thought i would sell the 135i so soon and let alone take my TL over it (not that i have a choice), but it is a more practical car and let's face it i'm a middle aged man now lol.

i'll put up pics of the impreza if i get it soon. it will be probably in pearl white sedan with the sport package (front/rear side skirts, spoiler, fog lights, heated seats, leather steering etc). let's hope it's a good decision

Nice. Glad that you will be sticking around. Tl is a overall well rounded car.

I'm on same boat. 2000 E46 bimmer and 2000 TL

Bimmer - lots of money to fix,.and every 2 to 3 month, I have to fix something. But fun to drive.
TL - paint is horrible by sun burned and always worry about trans.

But I'm thinking to keep my bimmer. Because I know how to fix and almost everything has been replaced. And fun drive. But that doesn't mean I don't like Acura. =)

my bimmer has not cost me much but that's because it has been under warranty so far. i had the fuel pump replaced and the front brake pads wore out after just 6 months of use one of the front struts were also busted and replaced. it's not the issue of reliability, it's just that no one will be driving this car much in Canadian winter. The TL is very reliable, so much so i cannot even believe it. Only thing i replaced on that car were wear and tear items like brakes and tires. It's also good in snowstorms!

I've owned an '06 325xi for nine months and I despise it. My '00 TL is the keeper with 200K on it. Let's see, the bimmer gets crappy gas mileage, tachs over 3500 at 70mph!, you can't see the radio display with polarized sunglasses on (there's a brain fart by the Germans), there's a buzzing noise from the instrument display, it rides like a Mack truck, most garages can't deal with the Condition based computer output or reset warning lights, it has no dipstick to look at the oil, it has no spare tire, and I could go on!
