security alarm system

Hey there,

for some reason, my security system is alarming intermittently. It works for awhile and then doesn't. I have had to lock/unlock the car manually with the key in the driver's side occasionally and perhaps a setting is changed due to this? I try to I make sure all doors and the trunk is closed before I attempt to alarm. The doors lock but the lights don't flash. When I unlock, the lights flash. The remote's battery appears to work. Any tips? Thanks alot.

This sometimes happens to me. But I noticed that it happens in the same areas. These areas are near buildings with radio towers. So Im guessing that the radio waves are interfering with the signal the remote puts out. Using the key in the driver's door would not cause any changes.

Thanks...how do you reactivate it? I make sure all doors/hood/trunk is closed and I press the arm button on the remote twice rapidly to lock and arm the car but the car only locks. The lights do not flash either. However when I unlock the car the lights flash twice and the car unlocks...

check to see if the alarm is even workin anymore. roll a window down, arm it wait a minute then reach in and open the door. also check all you door pins. checki that the pins activate the dome light properly when the door opens.
P.S. if you were gonna replace the alarm DONT get it done at a dealer. the aftermarket is cheaper with way more features and options.

Do you happen to know what brand it is? The alarm may be in what Directed Electronics (DEI, Viper, Python, Clifford, Hornet) call is "Valet" Mode.
