Seat warmers automatically turn off???

So I've been using my seat warmers lately and i notice after a while, it isn't warm any more. It has no problems with getting hot, but it seems as if it turns off after a while. I know irons automatically turn off when it's too hot. Does our seat warmer do the same thing?

So when you guys leave it on high, it stays hot until you turn it off?

Your not supposed to leave it on high. Your supposed to use it to warm up, then switch to low.

Like a thermostat it will keep the seat warm by coming on and off. Note that it stays on even after you turn the car off and on. It doesn't have an auto off.

So it does act like a thermostat then right? It feels like that's what it's doing.

Thats half the reason people install a remote start system

Leave the seat heat on low when you turn the car off at night
In the morning- car starts- seat warms up
Dont use high setting for this, in case you stay in the house longer than expected

The manual says only use high for initial warming then switch to low= which will come on and off as need to maintain a warm temp

The passenger seat has heat only on the butt while the driver has lumbar heat as well, something to do with the occupant sensor and airbag on the pass side

See other thread on =repaired my seat heat= for pics of the tiny wire and what happens when it fails- reason you use high only for a few minutes

you SURELY must be mistaken. in a few days a cold front is supposed to bring Gainesville, FL, which is where I will be this weekend, down to 30*, not be confused with 38* or 39*, but 30*. Granted, this is probably nothing compared to some of you, but this is severely intense for us Floridians.

Either way, I prefer a toasty heiny.

He said "used them" - not "needed." Hell, I live in Atlanta and use them all the time, and I'm below the Mason-Dixon - why would you NOT use them in northern climates?

No never needed them. I see no need for them. Between the heater and body heat the seats warm up just fine for me. I could live in Alaska and Never use them.

The only reason i knew the drivers side stopped working the same year i bought the car was because of my Girlfriend telling me it quit. I never saw a reason to get it fixed either
