I noticed that with my car as well. It took a month of driving to get it back to where it was, but I'm thinking I should have read all the posts on Seafoam and did it again a week or two after. I have new plugs in there now so I'm going to do it again to see how it works out.

That's odd, I noticed and immediate improvement on my TL. Went from25-26 to 28-29mpg. My father's TSX also saw improvement.
You have to add 8oz through the vac line to do the complete Seafoam fuel system cleaner. Also remove the air intake and spray down the throttle body.

wow thats a way hot mix for the gas!!! 2 oz foam per gallon of gas is cleaning doseage
thats 1 can in 1/2 tank of gas!
Doing the intake and TB plate makes a major differance
While crud is getting clean, mileage may drop- then improve

I thought it was supposed to be 1/4 of a tank to a 16 oz can? Thats what I did when I did and man the car ran great. When I refilled with normal gas the car was not running as well. Not bad or anything but it was a little smoother with the seafoam gas. Does it maybe act as a sort of octane booster?

its 1oz foam to 1 gallon gas - maitenance dose
2oz foam to 1 gal gas- super cleaning dose

not to worry J- in the shop machine - you put 16 oz foam in 1 gallon gas can, and run for 30 minutes at idle.

Damn this is something i would like to do to my car, but i got no idea how to do it, or were to get the sea foam. Also my car is a 99 with 140k miles and gives me 250k miles to the tank, and the reserve light just turned on...

I did seafoam too, it only helps clean the fuel port a bit....but not improve gas milage much... it mostly depends on the driving habit, stop and go traffice and much more....
I think you should clean the EGR port, i am not sure if it apply to your 2000 model. so you need to do some research here.
I drive 60miles a day (40 miles stop and go traffic jamp) and i got 24.5mpg. If I drive agrresive, i can only get 23. I reset my mile every gas tank. it is my habit.

Midwest- you need to do it over correctly- it cleans way more than a fuel port!!!

i guess i could search & find a thread on this, but to clean the TB plate, you really need to take off the entire TB(best way anyway), right? Like, I'd have to go buy the spray cleaner + a new TB gasket which goes between that & the IM?

no-its really simple and dont remove the TB from manifold
all you have to do is remove the rubber tube from air filter to TB- the big hose clamps are what you are looking for- the little hoses and clips etc remove as needed for main tube to come out completely
Spray clean the front of the plate and surrounding area, then use throttle cable assembly to open plate and spray backside of it
Use toothbrush and cleanup rag if needed for bad ones
start engine - let it stabilize, then spray carb cleaner or deep creep thru it while running- 2000 rpm is good for this
It will get the areas that seafoam thru the vac port wont reach
Stop engine and put back together making sure all hose clamps are tight or it will run bad
A shot of deep creep on the tube ends makes them slide back on
TB gets dirty from the PCV system, consider it regular maitenance to do at least once a year for best running car
Also do egr port cleaning about every 75kmiles

awesome. going to try doing that this weekend, thx!
i never would've never thought it'd be ok to start car while that black tube was off, but given your directions, i guess it's ok for a short while.![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
will use deep creep to clean the plate since i already have extra.

its not a problem as long as your not driving and sucking dirt into the engine!
Deep Creep is excellent for this job and it lubricates the throttle plate hinge as a bonus
Lube the throtttle springs while you are there and to do it right- remove throttle cables and shoot down into the cable housing, move cable back and forth
note- place rag under gas pedal to catch fluid runout
