Scratched Rim Club

I know this club began on the CL-S forum, but now I am a member due to my wonderful brother. I made the mistake of asking to trade cars tonight with him (he just got a nice Firepepper Red RSX type S) and he comes back telling me that he scratch my rim parking too close to the curb. Anyways, I was just wondering if any of you guys have scratched your rim(s) yet and if there is anything to do about it other than fileing it down yourself or buying a new rim?

I'm an unfortunate member, and in the ultimate irony, I did it in the dealer's lot when I brought the car in for service :-(

They send the rims out to be sanded and polished, costs around $50-60 to fix, if the damage isn't too bad.

i have had more than one factory alloy chrome rim scratched by someone else. finally this last time it was sent out to be refinished and it looks great....this rim was a factory 15" accord 4cyl EX rim and the scratch went all the way across one of the spokes and fairly deep. waited almost 5 weeks for it but it looks nice (you will want a full sized spare for that). not sure how much it cost.

Scratched mine pretty bad. Went to the dealer, they wanted to charge me $175. I found a company that does it in my area, but it is still not cheap ($125).

If anybody knows any places in Baltimore/Washington Area, let me know.

I also scratch my wheel couple weeks ago. I turn it too close during a turn. It has a 4-5 inches scratch. I search the web. I finally find a shop call Capital Wheels. I just went over there and switch with a new one. It costs me $75.

Rim repair prices will depend on how bad the damage is, but if its not a structural problem, $50-70 is a going rate.

Go to your local wheel straightening shop. They should be able to fix any minor scartaches for less than 60-70 bucks.

ARGH! I just found a 1.5" long hairline scratch on my right rear rim, probably due to road debris.

Unhappy

I scratched my rims yesterday afternoon. It's 4-5 inches right along the edge where the rim meets the tire. Does anybody know how much it costs for a new rim?

Yup yup. Driver's side front has a scratch completely across one of the spokes near the tire, about 2 inches long. I can live with it....

New member. Scratched both rims on the passenger side. The front one is all kinds of messed up.. bad.. im so mad. Im afraid to bring it to anyone to see if they can fix it because im sure the will laugh right in my face for my stupidity and for thinking they could fix it.

My girlfriend has scratched 3 of my rims and the bad thing is that she scratched them all within the first 2 weeks.
