Scratched & Cloudy Headlight Lenses

I was washing my 03 TLS today and had to use some "tar & bug" remover for the front end becuase the bugs were really stuck on good from my last road trip.

Unfortunately after all the rinsing and drying was finished, my headlight lenses were scratched up and cloudy. They still let the light through well enough but they look kind of nasty now.

They look normal and great when they are wet, but after they dry its not so nice.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Has anyone had this happen before?

I hope I don't have to replace the lenses, but if thats what I need to do I will do it (unless its a huge expense).

Thanks for your input.

Phil

I've had a similar problem with my '03 TLS. The headlight cover had lots of fine scratches on it but only could be seen with the headlights on. I used this polish called Mothers Plastic Polish. It took out most of the fine scratches. You might want to try that. Good luck.

your headlights will get scratches from daily driving... Your best bet would be to do what 2k3tls did and get some plasitc polish and if you know someone who does it get it wet sand... They will look brand new...
