Say Bye was so hard!!!

It happened and I am so sad - my 2000 Acura TL with only 316,500 miles died. I am sure her donated parts will help someone and I know for one - her motor was the best. We were T-boned by a driver from out of town going the wrong way. It was night time, I was waiting to cross west bound traffic and then it happened. When I proceeded to cross safely - there were lights coming at me from the left side - there was no place to go - it happened. I saw the whole thing - luckily, that split second I saw those lights I moved away from the driver side door, as I tipped myself over towards the passenger side, my eyes were fixed on the door behind me. I heard the loud impact, I saw the door coming at me - the side air bag deployed the car flew sideways in the air and landed but continued to go over the curb, median, over the east bound traffic, hit a sign and finally stopped after hitting the last curb. Wow - what a blessing, what a ride and I so miss her! The insurance had to total her - she was not drivable after that - her tires blew, door crunched in to the steering wheel and so - she was taken from me that night - to where ever they take cars to be dismantled for the good parts that remained. I can tell you this, her parts in that motor are ALL good. My replacement car for now is a 2009 Honda Accord EXL - 4 cylinder. It will do until I get a NEW Acura TL. If I were not in THAT car, I might not be here. She was a sturdy, safe, beautiful car. Her power was like no other I have driven. Just wanted to say - so long and my Acura lasted and lasted. 316,500 miles.....she would have and could have gone much longer! Thanks for reading - never ever buy a small car because if I had - you wouldn't be reading the story.

Glad to hear you're alright. That was a good reaction, leaning to the passenger side. Sorry to hear about your TL. Did you buy it new?

315k. Wow. I can only hope to get that many miles. As they say, when one door closes, another one opens!

Wow, definitely a blessing to be driving a solid, safe car like the TL - a testament to its safety rating. Glad you're OK. Your 2G TL was a great car - hope your next TL lasts you that long.

Hey Mendozad.....thanks for sharing your experience. You're fortunate and very blessed to be alive and well after being involved in such a life threatening situation. Keep the faith and may you move onto the next plateau of life's challenges.

Cars are replaceable, so don't feel sad...but be glad that you are alive and able to enjoy another Acura down the road. It'll protect you if the time ever comes again. Hopefully, not...but tomorrow is never guaranteed.
