Thumbs up Safe TL

Hi,

Just want to say to all TL owners that besides buying a good performance car, you have bought a very safe TL.

Recently, my brother crashed a "new" (3000 km) 2002 TL. He crashed into a concrete light post and caused the light post to snap and land on the roof of the car. He was with 2 other ppl. Everyone was ok, except for my brother who received a severe whip lash. If it wasn't for the stable and safe body of the TL he could of had a much more serious injury.

I just would like to thank the Acura engineers for a good job in balancing safety and performance in the vehicle.

Glad to hear that your brother is OK. Yes, the TL is a safe car. I assume the TL is a write-off, and you will buy a new TL?

He was going about 60 km/h.. it was rainy day and he was just licensed like 2 months ago.

Reyvr,

36mph into a a lamp post...glad to know the accident wasn't more serious esp the post falling on the car. I found out this week how great the ABS worked on my TL. I was on the right lane, and ahead of me on the left lane, a young new driver was too impatient waiting behind cars turning left. As i sped up towards the intersection, this biatch decides to aggresively pull out into my lane, no signals, nothing. Holy fk! I had to slam on the brakes honking, and if not for the ABS and solid control of the car on a heavily raining night, that biatch's a$$ could have been a goner right at the intersection. (Her Cavalier wont stand to the full force of TL ramming its rear) Finally at another light, i pull up beside her and she pretends i don't exist. I felt like jumping out and banging on her hood....."Learn how to drive!!!!"

Just wanted to add that the TL performed great for me too!
All the best to your bro.

TL is definitely a very safe car. I crashed on DVP (south of bayview/bloor exit), at 170km/h into the railguard. Spin 3 times and each spin cause me hitting the railguard once more.

And look at me. Nothing but a few scratch from the explosive airbag! I can't imagine what would happen is i sat in another car.

TL is big, but also tough!

I live in toronto too man.. Glad to hear that ur bro and others were okay. Now, let's all pray for ur insurance premium not to go sky high like mine.

here is a great insurance company for people in Toronto~~ So cheap.

Holey cow!! Hey, be careful with this bimmer, man! You dont want to find out the hard way that it's not as tough as our TL. More than 100mph into the rails with the TL?? Man, glad you live to enjoy your bimmer!

Hey, enjoy your B and keep us updated on how u liking or hating it. We like your "adventures" too much so dont leave us here, bro.
