RonJon 2nd Gen TL kit Concept, you guys feelin it?
Was messing around and I thought I would throw this in the air mto see if you guys are interested, I'm having a hell of a time trying to decide on our next kit, and the TL seems liek it needs one, besides the fact that everyone has the OEM lip kit, and there are no kits out. Nothing for sure now, just wanted to test the waters...

Thats Nice Ron......almost makes me want to keep my 2g now.Any pics of the rear,I never liked the way my exhaust looked through the OEM rear.
Makes the front look mean.....great concept.

what up Ron? Did you do anything to the rear? I think it looks good just got close up the gap where the fogs are. If you wanna test fit anything let me know.

The aesthetics of the 3g is why when I move on, I'll be going in the direction of a M35 or GS350...

It seems to look too much like the 3rd gen tl with the parts on it. A little less on the edges and keep the 2nd gen grille. That would look better for me. Depending on the final product, I'd go for it.

Just chillen..
Can you do a quick photoshop for a 99 - 01?! Man, its not fair the 02 and up get all the fun! Atleast the sides and rear would work, but a matching front end will be killa. Nice design tho,

In my opnion, it's too aggressive with too many box like edges, the foglamps are too high that it look more like turning signals.
For a TL i image a kit that is more suited for the VIP look.

Make the fog holes smaller & lose the slits just before the wheel well. I know that really isn't your style.
Also, I recognize my opinions are very conservative. I really feel like you nailed the 3G market...but we are a different breed. We like a car with a longer body. A more sleek, slender, and ellegant car. Not as aggressive, sharp, and mean as the 3g.
I really think it is cool how you are getting user feedback and working with us.

I just updfated it a bit more. Keep in mind the transition between concept to mreality (if it happens) usually takes the edge off, both figuratively and literally. So i don't want to keep making it more round and less aggressive, that will happen automatically. But who knows, I have a budget to make a kit right now, and I decided against the Accord sedan becasue of the low response. Maybe this one will do better. if not, I'll jump right on the new TSX and Accord when they hit the dealerships.

Yeah, it is a matter of staying true to your style and pleasing the customer. It just so happens you have very aggressive designs and the UA5 is smooth, long bodied car.
You've got to please the customer. Hopfully, you can do that without feeling like your selling yourself out.
Also, I think if you cut out the bottom fold that runs parallel with the air dam at the bottom on the bumper it would look a lot cleaner and less busy - BUT also more aggressive. I think that bottom fold I'm talking about(the long rectangle running closest to the ground) makes the front of the bumper appear too sluggish and boxy. If you cut it out - perhaps even deeper than it is now, and thus turned it into negative space, I think it would make the car look meaner yet more simplistic.
If you did that on top of the other two things I commented on I would be all over it.
I know I'm just one perspective customer, who seems awfully critical of a damn good design.
Trying to be constructive and helpful.

First off, sorry for stealing your photo and messing with it.
But this is more to what i had in mind... for the middle part(bellow the headlight), it can't be narrow since our rebar will have to fit into that groove, i can't think of anyother way to design the uper part, but dipping it in woudn't really match the styling to the 2nd gen TL. It looks off and it looks boxish with nothing to guide those lines.

edit
i just read the post about not cutting out the aggressiveness and such.. and in my opinion.. i think it will really be hard.just takes time to find something aggresive + smooth at the same time..

I'd love to see a concept kit/images for the 99-01 and 02-03's. Here's an idea...Why not hold a contest to see who can make the best looking concept kit and then give it to Rondog to put this finishing touches on it? I think that'd be awesome.. that is, if he were to agree.

I really wouldnt mind seeing a ron's rendition of a mugen look type spoiler, and maybe his rendition of a blaze rear, prolly cant really do such a thing, but i think both of those designs are highly favored by a good number of the 2g community
