If its in the drivers line of sight (in front of drivers view) they wont repair it, otherwise its up to you. If it highly visible and it will bug you then just replace it.

i would still try to get it repaired. i was told by my local glass company that if the area of damage is smaller than a dollar bill then it can be repaired. it's just cheaper to repair i guess.

if you go through your insurance they don't like to see you replacing windshields more than 3 times in a 18 month period (or so i was told). so do cash if you can.

yes, if you have glass coverage, but my agent told me that if you submit 3 glass claims in 18 months (i think it was 18 months, maybe 12) then they can cancel your glass coverage without question. of course this is just the policy of my company (i have the Travellers Group). your company may not care.

now if this is only your second time i wouldn't worry about it. just something to keep in mind since shit happens when you least expect it.

From experience, if you can get it repaired, go that route. Your car is never quite the same one you swap out the windsheild.

I had a real big chip in mines before and I got it replace for about $400. After that i had a little ding in it and i just got it repaired for about $45. I heard there are repair kits that you can do on your own, but i would just let the pros do it.
