Roaring noise coming from car when moving

Recently I had new tires put on my car. After about 500 miles I noticed a roaring noise that sounded like an airplane engine (granted not that loud) and it was most noticeable when I got to about 55 MPH. The noise seems to coincide with how fast I am going, not how much I rev the engine. I checked the air pressure in the tires and one of them was at 45 lbs. The rest were at 32 lbs. I let the air out so it was the same, but the problem persists. Anyone have any idea what might cause something like this?

Are they directional tires? If so they may have been mounted wrong.

I had a similar noise problem with my tires, turned out the geniuses at Discount Tire put them on going the wong direction.

you may also want to check your wheel bearings. the roaring is a tell tale of failure IIRC.

Like the others said, check that the tires arent directional and mounted wrong. If so its pssible you have a bearing going out

Thanks guys for all the replies. I am not all that car savy so excuse my ignorance, but how can I tell what way they should be mounted?

Also, about how much does a bearing cost to replace?

sounds like a bearing dude, I just got mine replaced this week. I paid 300 bucks for both front bearings and labor... things wear out, things get fixed.

Just took it to the shop, the front left bearing was bad. $143.50 for replacement including labor.

As usual you guys were right on the money. Thanks again to all that replied.

and to answer one of your previous questions, if you have direction tires there should be an arrow on the sidewall and maybe a few words to denote the direction of rotation. non-directional tires should have no arrows on them.
