Question Road trip/Automatic Door relock feature

Guys, A couple of things to share. First of all, we just got back from a 900 mile one way visit to central Florida tonight and at a steady 80 mph with the car loaded down and 5w-30 Mobil One we usually acheived 28-29 mpg with one tank of 34.5 mpg a new record! I can't complain about the car except that the seat bottoms and my butt don't agree after many hours. Secondly, Can anyone explain better than the manual about door autolock after a time period? If you open the car with the remote fob, it will automatically relock itself after a short time, whether it's in your garage or not. How can I prevent this feature and are their settable options? Thanks in advance!

I think its only if you've already locked your car then unlocked it and haven't entered the car yet..after a while it will lock itself again...
but i've never experienced it locking itself after i've exited the car...cuz factory alarms aren't really alarms lol...

what? Your car can't tell whether it is in your garage or not?

I think you should take it to the dealer.

Just open the door then close it. It will reamin unlock. otherwise it will lock itself up in about 30 secs.

You mean you want the doors not to autolock after you close it?
All i do is open the door, get out the car, press up on the switch to unlock the doors, then close the doors. It doesn't autolock. But if you use your remote to unlock the door, get in, and then get out and close the door, it will autolock after 30 seconds.
