Is this a road chip or Human scratch?

Today I found a deep chip on my front bumper. It is about 3 mm in diameter and 2mm deep. More interestingly, the paint that has been removed didn't go, it is hanging there by a string of bumper plastic.

I am wondering if it is possible to get such kind of deep chip, or it is just a scratch done on purpose? Coz I couldn't believe a rock splash on the road has the energy to penetrate and remove the paint together with plastic, and drill such a hole in bumpers.

My car is WDP, right now it is very ugly. Could you guys give some suggestion on touching-up the chip?

it could be either one but I'd say road rocks. Rocks kicked up from other cars fly at considerable speeds, hence why they break windshields. If it hit the bumper, it could easily put a chip in it. A body shop would be able to fix that up.

i got one from a chip that was about 1/2 inch by 1/8 inch. It went down to the metal... past 2 layers or even 3.

I remember hearing a loud bang going at 90mph down I-95. Pretty sure that was what it was.

Anybody can recommend a good bodyshop/detailer for touching-up?

In Philadelphia area.

Thanks a lot.

A rock put a dent and chipped the paint on my HOOD. I would say it just might be strong enough to chip a polyurethane bumper.

It not only chipped bumper, but also dug out a tiny piece of the black bumper plastic. It looks like a hole drilled into the bumper.

So I am just wodering if this is possible with road rocks, or I should start suspecting my neighbors?

Yeah I have 2 or 3 little chips like that on my hood and bumper where its down to the metal. How should I approach fixing it? Touch up paint and Lagka? Or should I use the paint pen? I also have WDP.

You should post a picture....

You could always use touch-up then wet sand it smooth.

I only park at home and at school and at bothe locations I have fixed spot, so I am 99% sure nobody backed into my car.

I am curious if dealer has a better way to deal with the deap nick rather than putting touch-up paint on it.

I also have taken pictures of the chip using cellphone, but is didn't focus right, so the picture is blurry. I will post it maybe tomorrow when I re-take it.
