Question rice neons problem....?!?!

I bought two (rice) 9" mini-neons with a sound/full-on controller today.
i extended the wires so i can put one in the engine area and one in the trunk but i have a problem.

they wont light up correctly. first if i want one neon to be on i need to disconnect the other. second. when one neon is on, if i squeeze or press on the (+)wire where the connection (between the original neon wire and my extended wire) is, the neon dont light up completly or just turn off...?!?!?! oh and when i touch the wire itself when it's not connected to the neon it is HOT and i was electrified 2 times :p like it was more than 12v ?!

what is my problem????????

I can try to help you if you try to eplain it clearly. Tell me how you are wiring them. And tell me how you want them to work...ie both on at the same time, one on when the other one is off,...etc.

These are sound/on driven neons, if the neons turn on for a moment and then turn off, check if you have the neons in the on position and not the sound position.

These are neons, they don't run off 12V, there is a transformer which run at HIGH VOLTAGES and you will get shocked/burnt if you don't be careful, esp. when touching the controller. If the controller is not enclosed in any plastic/rubber casing, i recommend you get some electrial tape and tape up the controller.

this is how the neons are wired.. if u put the controller/transformer at full on, both neon "normally" light up, but in my case they dont, if i disconnect one the other lights up but very dim. and if i press on the + wire on the extended part the light is even dimmer ?!?!

my guess is that my problem is caused by resistance but im not sure...

light up my way please :p

Where are you grounding it too? Maybe it's not ground and it has voltage potential?

I don't see anything wrong with your setup...maybe it's a bad controller?

it's plugged directly onto 12v cig lighter plug in the center console so it shoud be grounded correctly but now im sure my problem is resistance cuz i made the wires shorter and the neon is brighter

thx for ur help
