Reverse Glow Gauge Install

Hey, I realize the DIY for this is no longer available. I've searched and got all the scraps of info for the most part.

I've taken 2 screws off from the panel above the speedo, and I've basically taken out the entire panel. I disconnected all of the wires/switches. However, the panel seems to be still attached at the steering wheel. Do I need to unscrew anything or just yank?

Ok, I have the speedo out. Am I supposed to take the stock black background out, or just slip the new ones over it?

I'm pretty sure you slip the new ones over it. Check the instructions.

Do I have to take off the needles? I read that people have screwed there needles by messing them up, so I'm hesitant to try to take them off. Do you remember?

DO NOT remove the needles, simply just work the new face over the existing one. It takes time and patience.

that I'm not sure. I've never installed them. I'm probably going to have to go with one of these for my setups.

Ok, I managed to get them over. The fuel/temp was hard, and I'm afraid I broke it. I guess we'll see.

Alright, after I got the new faces over the needles, I decided to test them before reassembling them. All the needles work well, but my SRS light is staying on. Any ideas as to why? I don't see why the SRS would be affected by messing with the cluster.

Also, where did you guys buy the pin connector for the power? If I went to RadioShack, what would I ask for?

Hmm... I can't seem to be able to get the black covering back onto the speedo piece, because the cables are sticking out. Did you guys just cut/dremmel the plastic to fit? Doesn't seem that any of the three will fit without cutting through the plastic.

The SRS light comes on when you mess with the electrical components. Happened to me too when I did my Type-S speedometer with blue leds and fog light mod. You have to reset it. There is a DIY somewhere in the DIY section. But don't reset yet until you are completely finished or else it will just come on again.

Also, I am selling my car and I am going to part out the Type-S speedometer with blue leds. Just plug and play so you don't have to go through all of this nonsense. PM me if you want it.

no, but since I'm running AEM EMS and it has can bus and my stock gauges don't like the AEM I might need to upgrade.

This is becoming a huge hassle, but I can't buy the TL-S speedo since I'm TL-P =[.

I'm basically done now, but my D5 light won't come on. Has anyone else experienced this? I took it apart, and the D5 light looks like it has a hole in the solder point, but I don't want to mess with it.

Also, my turn signals don't work, but I think that's because I haven't hooked up the other dash buttons (Emergency light button).
