Resonator confusion: 2??
OK OK, I know about this beast resonator before the airbox in the bumper area, but what about this black box between the airbox and engine, pointing down with 2 'J' chambers, I thought that was the resonator. On my old 3000GT, the 'resonator' was more like the 'J' box between the filter and engine....

What is that 'J' box?

I guess I could try removing it to see if it makes any different in sound.

Yes, it's a second resonator to reduce the noise. We have this same thing on the V6 Accord. And no, it's not there to trap water. You can yank it off, but you need to find something to plug it up and make sure that it doesn't get sucked into the intake path.

Click on the link in the first post...that is what we are talking about. Also, look under the hood of your car and follow the air intake hose from the throttle body to the air box. In the middle, on the underside of the hose is the thing we are talking about.
