Disconecting the battery for a couple of minutes or taking it to the dealer and asking them to reset it.

pull the fuse to it..then step on the brake for 30 secs.

Why do you think you need to do such a thing?

Crusie Control...

I notice that the ECU fuse also is used for the Cruise Control. Therefore there would be a brake pedal switch that would still be active connected to the ECU module or power supply.

Perhaps the ECU uses a contact off of the Cruise Control/Brake pedal switch as a reset pin. More likely, there is a capacitor that holds up memory inside the ECU module. Therefore to reset it, after disconnecting the battery or fuse, you need to either wait several minutes (or hours)for it to discharge or simply apply the brake and it may drain the cap in a matter of seconds.

Just a guess...

LOL - yes, that is the explanation, and why I answered his question as I did, but what I meant was why did he feel the need to reset his ECU?

Joke's on me...

Yeah, RR, I thought it was kind of a strange question, and almost prefaced my answer with "Are you serious in wanting to know the technical reasons for why this would be the procedure"... Somehow the OBVIOUS just flew over my head... DUH!
I would now also be interested in the answer to your question of "WHY ARE YOU ASKING HOW TO RESET THE ECU?"

I'm not a geek or a dork, HONEST! I DRIVE A TL-S! and I'm not afraid to use SS! LOL
