Resale Value ? If 2003 is the last year of the TLs
Curious to know your thoughts.
If 2003 is the last production year for the TLs how would that position the model year in terms of resale value.
No change, Increase or Decrease ?
Thx

I think its going to decrease, many people don't want cars that are not being produced anymore. just my opinion though. Hopefully it will increase so when I sell mine, I can even get something nicer SLK32 AMG

Just a question do you think the 2002 Honda Accord Coupe will be worth more than the new style accord coupe 10 years from now. I understand what you are saying but personally my jaw dropped when I saw the new accord coupe, and I think in the next 10 years they might go through another 2-3 body styles. I think the car will only increase if Acura has some real "tools" working on this new TL. If there are major flaws like there usually is in the first year of a new car, the flaws might not be fixed until 2005 or 06. But with the all wheel drive and +270hp I think more people would rather spend the extra cash and get those options than buy a used one. That might bring the resale price down but I am no expert whatsoever.

It shouldn't be too bad. What you have on your side is that the TL is one of, if not the best seller for Acura. The other thing on your side is that sedans hold their value better then coupes like the CL. Look at how much you see some 1999-2001 TLs going for. Technically they're a "generation" older then ours, and some of them still fetch some good coin.
Bottom line is that if you're purchasing a car to worry about resale value.... stop buying cars. Cars are a loosing investment no matter how you look at it. All cars except collectibles decrease in value. Just drive it, have fun, and when it's time for another car you sell your TL for as much as you can and move on. I'll tell you one thing... the TL is likely the last NEW car I'll ever buy. Low mileage one-year old (or so) cars still under warranty are where it's at... let the first owner take the hit on depreciation.
