Replacing tie rods

Just found out that my tie rods are shot. While turning left, you can feel and hear something pop. Planning on replacing everything with moog. Question is, would it be best to replace both sides plus inner and outer parts together, or only what needs to be replaced now? Haven't done a proper inspection of the parts in question, just looking for some insight. Save some money now or go for preventative maintenance.

I see youre an '03. How many miles are you?

Get under the car and inspect the front end. Look for torn boots, check ball joints, axles, bushings.

I'm about 97k miles. I'll be checking them tomorrow when I have a day off.

Only thing I know for sure is that there is movement in the tie rod end. Can feel it when grabbing it and having someone turn the wheel left.

Replace what is worn. If they arent worn no real need to replace them Mine are still original at 450k and solid.

Inspection only shows a loose joint at the tie rod end. Everything else looks good. No tears or play on any other parts that I could see. Don't know how to tell whether the inner rod is worn or not. Didn't feel any play during my inspection. The boot around it isn't torn either. Any tips for diagnosing the inner rod?

Would anyone happen to know the torque spec of the castle nut for the tie rod as well? Searching didn't turn much up.

Finally got around to changing the tie rod end. Seems as if the nut just backed itself off. Joint was pretty easy to move around, so swapped it out anyways. Just need new tires and alignment will get done.

Still kind of surprised that Honda didn't use castle nuts on those parts to begin with. If they did, then someone didn't use the right part when replacing them.
