Replacing Exhaust Cat w/ St8 Test Pipe For Track Use

I know this is illegal but has anyone swapped thier cat w/ a st8 test pipe for track use?
There should be some performance gains. Just wondering if anyone has done it. Im thinking about doing mine.

Yeah i did it about 6 months after having my car. You will notice a big difference. The only down fall is that your check engine light will come on. Other then that i love it and have yet to put my cat back on.

I just went to a muffler shop and had them remove my cat and replace it w/ a custom st8 test pipe w/ flange and heat shield. So if i ever get pulled over and the cop looks under my car. He wont notice anything. It doesnt look illegal. It still looks like I have my cat on. The heat shield does a good job covering it up. So after the install, I took the car for some WOT runs. Must I say. DAMNNNNNNNN I LOVE THIS MOD!! VROOOOOOOOM!! Especially in the Higher RPMS. ITS LIKE A MEAN GROWL. Too bad its raining and the roads are wet here in So Cali. Can't wait till it drys up and go for more runs on the freeway. The total for this mod was $65 cash. I tipped the guy $5 for doing a great job! Definately worth my $65 bucks!
