Question Replaced Vehicle Poll:

I have noticed that alot of TL owners on this site were previous Nissan Maxima owners. Including myself, I have owned a maxima from every year since 1992. All SE's This my first Acura.
The poll: What cars have you owned in the past?

Example:

Traded In (Replaced):

Infinity I-30T 1996

1995 Nissan Maxima SE 5 spd (0-60 6.6 sec, 142 mph) Oh I miss that car)

1992 Nissam Maxima SE (Auto)

1990 Nissan Maxima SE (Auto)

1980 Honda Prelude (first car I ever had sex in and thank god for the sunroof or she would have a lot bumps on her head. LMAO)

1976 Pontiac Sunbird (Army Days)

1975 Chevy Camaro (Army Days)
1976 Chevy Citation (Army Days)

Current:

2002 TL-S, 1996 Toyota Corolla (Commute), 1998 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4

I hope this poll isn't too confusing, If someone have a better way of writing this poll , be my guess. Just wanted to see if my theory is true that majority of the people on this board, either owned or still own Maximas or a Similar Japanese vehicle.

Before that, a 94 Legend

Before that a 95 J30 Infiniti (zzzzzz)

Before that a 91 Legend

Before that a 94 Integra coupe

Before that a 81 280ZX (my first love, killed by a semi truck while parked one day).

Hm.. lets see... it's tall, easy to tip over.... it's a gas guzzler.... IT'S AN SUV!!!

Traded In:

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

Every single option except V8 and Sunroof.

One Owner, no accident.

TL-S is head and shoulder above the Jeep in just about every way.... maybe except rattles/creaks. My Jeep has been rattle-free even after 8 years of driving(and some off-roading).

Here's what's been in the "family" thus far:

1983 VW Scirrocco (at 6 yrs old it looked good...but was always broken)

1990 Nissan Sentra (good dependable boring car)

1990 Maxima, great car until the tranny gave out at 120k miles

1990 Toyota pickup.....fantastic lil truck...until it took in water in the head gasket (flood in Houston)

1994 Infiniti Q45 (fab ride until it was wrecked...and then flooded)

Now driving 2 21st Century vehicles:
02 Type S
01 Toyota 4 Runner, Sport Package with the hood scoop

Well, since I'm young (24), this is only my 4th car....

'87 Mustang (used)
'95 Sunfire GT (new)
'98 Acura CL 3.0 (new)
'02 TL-S (new)

None of them are really in the same class as the other, but I slowly moved up the food chain!!

No Maximas

No Max's here. My brother's had two, though, an '87 and a '94(?). BTW, he hates the newer one.

My own family recently stepped from an '87 Legend (210,000 & counting. We still drive it) to the TL-S.

My other "car" is a resto-(slightly)rodded '72 Suburban.

The TL replaced a 91 Legend LS which replaced an 87 Nissan Maxima - once again, a Maxima lurks in the past

Another Maxima here. My list:

'75 Plymouth Fury 318 V8 (used)
'81 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 305 V8 (used)
'87 Chevrolet Camaro LT 305 V8 (used)
'93 Nissan Sentra SE-R 2.0L 4 (new)
'97 Nissan Maxima SE 3.0L V6 (new)
'02 Acura TL-S 3.2L V6 (new)

Technically I still have the Maxima because we sold the wife's '94 Geo Prizm 2.0L 4 (new) with 150,000 miles on it and kept the Maxima. So I get the best of both worlds.

'88 Ford Escort - Piece of S#it!! But at least I had enough bass in there that I never heard how bad the car really ran. (first and only american car I will ever drive)

'92 Honda Civic HB (RIP ) - Great car. Never a single problem with it......Until I got hit head on by a drunk in a Toyota 4X4, and rear ended too! Walked away from the car though. (airbags HURT)

'99 TL - Loved her, but it was time to get rid of her.

And now, the '02 SSM TL-S!!

For the Tl-S I traded in a 94' Lexus GS 300, previous to that a 92' Acura Vigor and b4 that my first Honda product an 88' Prelude Si. I have previously purchased for my wife an 89' CRX and her current ride is a 98' CRV. She actually had the opportunity to trade the CRV for an RX300 an decided she'd rather have the CRV !!

3 Maximas in my past (and present).....I've enjoyed Nissans since 1995 when we bought the wife an Altima.

Here's my ride list - been driving since 1983, so I've got a few years to go to catch up with Biker. This list does not include any of my wife's vehicles (which started with a 1986 Chevy Sprint...)

1982 Ford Fairmont (college car - hey, at least it ran)
1990 Probe GT 5 spd
1996 Maxima SE 5 spd - no leather/Bose - never again
1997 Maxima SE 5 spd (Replaced the '96 Max)
1999.5 Jetta VR6 5 spd (Replaced the Probe)
2000 Maxima SE 5 spd (Replaced the Jetta)
2002 TL-S (replaced the '97 Max)

Sure, there are times when I wish the TL-S had a 6 spd, but there are times (especially when I get stuck in traffic) that I wish the Max had an autobox, too.

1978 Pontiac Grand Prix (Bought Used) - scraped on the floor when making left hand turns, 'nuff said.

1982 Buick Regal (Bought Used) - Spun Bearing ~90K miles...Loved this car even though it had no horsepower and the sunroof leaked

1991 Chevrolet Beretta (Bought New) - Sold with ~91K, excellent car, (I actually did not feel guilty selling it to a friend) Replaced by '02 Acura TL-S ABP

There were two Maxima's in the family though: '87 & '96 which I thought were good cars until I picked up my Acura.

I tend to keep my cars a while. The following is a list of cars that have been in the "family". A * next to the car indicates that I was the primary driver.

My cars:

1st car: '76 Fiat 128 * (Don't laugh) It was killed by a Delta 88
2nd car: '78 Chevy Impala (bought it w/69K miles sold it w/165K)

'79 Mustang Ghia (Biggest toilet I've ever driven or sat on)

'91 Toyota Camry V6-LE (ex-wife took that)

'93 Acura Vigor * (traded Blazer for this)

'95 Nissan Pathfinder SE (traded Mazda for this)
'98 Nissan Pathfinder LE (traded '95 Pathfinder for this)
