Removing Left Rear Door Panel

When I bought my car, there was no lock in my left rear door (the plastic piece of the lock that sticks out of the car). I went to the Acura dealership to see how much it would cost to get one installed. The price? 78 freaking dollars . $8 for the actual part, and $70 for the labor. There is no way I am gonna pay that much for such a little part. So, I wanted to just install it myself. How would I go about this? Would I need to remove the door panel? For those of you who have opened up your door to do audio work or anything else, please tell me if you could access the lock when you took off the panel. Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Looks to me like you have to take off the door panel to access the area and make necessary repairs. Hope that helped.
