Removing exhaust tips

Folks,

How in heck do you remove the exhaust tips on 00 TL? I turn so hard the bolt heads are starting to deform but still won't twist. Are those screws also welded on? I'm twisting counter clockwise.

thks

Check on the TL Forum. I remember someone with the same problem over there. On the TLS, all we have to do is get a 10mm socket driver (no need for a rachet, really) and it comes off nice and easy. Sorry, man.
By the way, what are you planning to do? Install new tips? What size/finish?

I tried using a 10mm socket wrench, I think I tried twisting it off for an hour and finally gave up. Just do yourself a favor and buy a wratchet. Save you a lot of time and f*cks out of your mouth.

Guys,

Yeah i posted on the TL forum as well and got great replies just like in here. It seems like others have had the same problem with this, lots of elbow grease, using wratchet will probably work at this point. I did use the 10mm socket wrench and damn, it dont even budge, that the bolt head is starting to wear. I wanted to remove it to polish it up properly. I'm also thinking of putting bigger tips like someone did recently. Similar to the 3 inch by 9 inch someone got from Pep boys for $50us. I like the look of it going all the way back to the muffler. The current tips are too short and if you pay attention, it gives the stock install the "chicken drumstick" look. All the meat hanging off the ends with that skinny muffler pipe in the middle between the tips and the muffler.

Thanks for your "tips"
