Reman. Transmission for 2003 Type S
I just had my tranny replaced last week at 56k (up until then, I thought I was one of the lucky ones) and since I had an aftermarket extended warranty, Acura decided to utilize that instead of doing a goodwill replacement (my VIN is not included in the warranty extension). The service writer told me that the warranty company sent him a remanufactured transmission from Howard Engineering. Has anyone heard of this company? I'm curious if it is a better reman. version than what Acura is using.

Should I trust it or should I unload this time bomb around 95K miles?

I went to the site and called them. They do not sell to the public. You have to go to the dealer or some other shop. Basically the list is 3,500 and depends on what warranty you get. There is a 50month 50K mile one that would be a lot more than 3,500.
So the warranty depends on what dealer you used and what thay are willing to sell you. They name the price.
